All community members can access available substance use services, including:
-
Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT): Using different medications to prevent withdrawal and lower cravings for opioid drugs. Usually, the goal of traditional OAT is to get off the person off the illicit toxic drug supply, and/or stop taking drugs.
-
Safer Supply: Providing prescribed medications as safer alternatives to the toxic illegal drug supply. Safer Supply supports long term recovery and reducing the risk of overdose by focusing on stability, harm reduction, and managing chronic pain.
-
Clinical Care: Delivering nursing services such as wound care, health screenings, and testing or treatment for STIs, TB, HIV, Hepatitis, and Syphilis.
-
Harm Reduction: Offering supplies such as safe smoking and injection kits, Naloxone kits, and Naloxone training.
-
Referrals and Service Navigation: Connecting members to addictions treatment centres, day programs, and counselling services.
-
Social Determinants of Health: Assisting with coordination and advocacy for basic needs, BC Housing applications, and disability applications.
