Laws, Bylaws and Other Regulations
Since Cowichan Tribes members passed the Quw'utsun Tumuhw, Lulumexun has been working with the Lands Management Advisory Committee, Council and the commnity to develop new Quw'utsun laws. Under Quw'utsun Tumuhw, Council is authorized to pass various laws under section 2 and laws relating to enforcement under various sections including section 38.
Bylaws are local laws passed by Band Council. They are designed to help control certain activities within the community. In general, Band Councils have the authority under the Indian Act to pass bylaws.
