YUTHUYTHUT ADULT TRAINING CENTRE

Yuthuythut Adult Training Centre started in 1990 as a stepping-stone for adults over 18 to upgrade their education as a step towards a more meaningful life.  Recently special focus has been on improving literacy.

All Cowichan Tribes’ members and their extended family are eligible to participate in the program.  The core service is a 10-month program that runs from September to June, providing instruction in a variety of academic courses.  Students can enroll anytime and take up to three years to complete.  Yuthuythut also provides training and work experience in several vocational areas such as cashier, First Aid, First Host, and Food Safe.

Yuthuythut has five computers and a printer available on a drop-in basis for members who do not have access to such equipment.

All teachers at Yuthuythut staff are members of the BC College of Teachers or equivalent.
