The subsequent pages contain reference material about publications that contain information about the Cowichan Tribes, their history and culture, some of it annotated.  Many of these publications can be found at local libraries, others can be found at the libraries of universities and colleges, at the BC Archives or other repositories. 

There are several Cowichan Tribes departments that conduct research and that hold repositories of information about Cowichan Tribes’ archaeology, history, and culture.  These include the Cultural and Education, Lands, Fisheries, Environment, and the Treaty office.  The information in these departments is managed and held for the benefit of Cowichan Tribes.  The Hul'qumi'num Treaty Group also holds much information about Cowichan history and culture.
